Music video
The music video for "The Last Goodbye" was filmed and set in Liverpool, during midnight. Natasha Hamilton stated that the reason the video was filmed in Liverpool, was because they wanted a location with beautiful architecture, and tourist attractions that people will instantly associate with Liverpool.
The story of the music video is that the kittens are all in different scenes, and stumble upon different couples who are in love, whilst the kittens are alone and sad.
Liz McClarnon said that it was their first video where they had to include acting, instead of dancing, posing and just singing in front of the camera.
Some of the scenes include Natasha Hamilton in Liverpool Airport, and a taxi, Liz McClarnon in a Cinema (Crosby Community Plaza), and Jenny Frost in a Hotel room. The final scene includes all three kittens walking down a famous sight in Liverpool, again, in the dead of night.

The song was a worldwide success, reaching the top 40 in every country where it was released.
The song peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart on its first week of release. It stayed on the chart for 12 weeks, and managed to sell 182,695 copies in the UK alone. It is Atomic Kitten's fifth-best-selling single in the UK, after "Whole Again", "The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling)", and "Eternal Flame".
The song also was a top 10 hit in The Republic of Ireland, and like the UK, was their fourth-best-selling single there.
In New Zealand, the single went straight in at 11, just missing the top 10. Atomic Kitten never promoted their singles in New Zealand, yet went on to have three number ones, four top tens, and 8 top twenties. In other words, all of their singles released in New Zealand peaked in the top 20, with the exception of "Right Now", which only managed to peak at 40.
The song was a top 20 hit in The Netherlands and Austria, again, a success, considering they never promoted "The Last Goodbye" over there.
Although their lowest charting hit in Denmark, it still managed to peak at 20. Denmark is the only country for every one of Atomic Kitten's singles to reach the top 20.
In Germany and Switzerland, the song was a top 30 hit, and in Belgium and Sweden the single was a top 40 hit.
